Country music returns to Martha’s Vineyard with the four-day Songwriting Festival from Sept. 18 to 21 at venues like Midnight Taco, The Strand, and Sandbar. Songwriters from Nashville, including CJ Solar, Dave Kuncio, and Ben Williams—who have penned hits for artists like Megan Moroney and Alicia Keys—will perform and share their creative processes. The festival also features rising musicians and ties into the Tivoli Day celebration in Oak Bluffs on Sept. 20. Founder Matt Casey expanded the event due to demand while keeping it manageable. Neom Music Management presents the ninth annual Martha’s Vineyard Songwriters Festival from September 18 to 21, featuring top Nashville songwriters and artists in Boston and Martha’s Vineyard. This year’s Nashville Hit Makers include C.J. Solar, Ben Williams, Rick Huckaby, Paul Sikes, and Dave Kuncio, known for writing hits for stars like Morgan Wallen, Selena Gomez, and Alicia Keys. The Hit Makers will perform two sold-out shows at the Strand Theater on September 21, joined by the Music City Rising Stars, emerging artists from Nashville, who will also play on September 20. Both groups will perform across various Island venues throughout the festival.

Nashville is coming to light up the Vineyard on Sept. 20 and 21. Matt Casey is bringing both hit songwriters and emerging stars to play a plethora of venues over the Tivoli weekend.

Even if country music fans don’t recognize the names of the biggest stars coming to next weekend’s sixth annual New England to Nashville Martha’s Vineyard Songwriters’ Festival, there’s no reason to fret. They’ll surely recognize their music.

Six years ago Matt Casey brought one songwriter to perform and do a workshop on the Vineyard. This weekend he is bringing more than 15 musicians and songwriters to the Island as part of his New England to Nashville, Martha’s Vineyard Songwriting Festival.

Picturesque Martha’s Vineyard played host to the Martha’s Vineyard Songwriting Festival this past weekend, for the festival’s fifth year of shows, workshops, and gatherings. The festival began in Boston, with shows from both the festival’s Rising Stars and Pros, and then moved to the island Friday morning.

Get ready to join them in a long-weekend night show titled The show, titled “Behind the Curtain with Nashville Hit-Makers and Rising Stars,” This is the third annual Martha’s Vineyard Songwriters Festival (MVSF) presented by New England to Nashville (NETN), a group founded in 2012 to support artists based in or connected to New England whose artistic efforts are focused on the Nashville music scene.

Wannabe country singers are heading to Loretta’s Last Call this week. The Lansdowne Street bar is hosting the first two nights of the annual Martha’s Vineyard Songwriters Festival. Organizers say this year’s gathering features a few songwriters with serious chops, notably Jim McCormick, Marty Dodson, and Clay Mills, whose resumes include hits for such acts as Lady Antebellum, Jason Aldean, and Darius Rucker.
